Gelade backstory

Gelade is a planet entirely from ice, and in some parts of the planet, dry ice. The ice gives a special energy, so regular fire and tools can not break the ice (no pun intended). Gelade is unhabitable. Studies have shown that the dry ice marks once could've been water, suggesting that the planet once was habitable by any creature. It is a mystery as to why it has frozen.
