Passwerde(History)
Polarians are descendants of Terran colonists that arrived 700 years ago. Samuel Welch headed the first expedition to Scythia, a planet rich in minerals, but a minor malfunction aboard the expedition's flagship computer caused the route tracker to go offline temporarily. When the system turned back on, the colonists thought they were close to Scythia, when they had actually landed in Polaris. Samuel Welch stepped onto the cold ice of Polaris, and named it so after a quick look around. A day later, when he was conducting studies alone out in the snow, a Welchie saw him and quickly devoured the pour soul to turn him into jelly.
5 years later, an expedition to Scythia was launched. Huge cargoholds of minerals and metals were shipped back to Terra while Polarians continued to lead simple lives. 1 year later, another ship was sent to Pacifica. No sentient life was discovered on the planet completely covered with fresh water.
Around 500 years ago, the Terrans stopped giving communications to the Polarians. The Polarians ignored this, and sent their monthly shipment of metals anyway. The Terrans greeted the shipmen with some laserfire and a booming message that said "WE DON'T NEED YOUR WORTHLESS METAL ANYMORE, WE HAVE NEW SOURCES NOW. WE HOPE YOU ALL DIE IN THE COLD. HAHA. GOODBYE."
"Go die in the cold" has since become a phrase meaning "go away" or "don't talk to me" or, if used toward an enemy, "**** off".
An election was held to determine a temporary president, and ever since 2564, elections have been held every four years for the office of the President and the various seats in the Senedd (Parliament).
In 2729, overcrowding was marked as a major problem of the future by scientists, and after 2 decades of preparation, many Polarians left their homeworld to the since ignored planets of Scythia and Pacifica to start a new life.

Polaway(Culture)
Polarians are very intelligent and sociable, but they are also very weary of others. After the abandonment of Polaris by Terra, a proverb pecame popular "choose your mother carefuly". Polarian life revolves around work. Although it is not law, culture dictates that it is immoral to work less than 40 hours a week. For the unemployed, there is always good work in the form of infrastructure projects the government commisions: housing pods for the ever-growing population, Moldavi Belt factory repairs, and service in the ground or air forces. Although there is no constription, the official Polarian ground forces number in excess of 1 billion, and pretty much everyone is in a militia in some shape or form. The official language of Polaris is Polarian, which is basically a morphed version of English. If a human from Terra were to read a Polarian children's book. He would probably understand the story, albeit with a bit of difficulty.
Polarians began to distance themselves from Terrans as much as possible after the Betrayal, but was was difficult, considering both groups were still Human. So, the government decided to make up a new language and new holidays. The new language was called "Polarian" and was very much a convoluted version of English, with some Romance Languages words, with some Cyrillic phrases and even a few Arabian bleatings. The result was quite a horrid to learn, and almost nobody, except government officials and military officers, actually spoke it. Here are the holidays that Polarians enjoy. Their year is 225 planet rotations long, and Polaris takes exactly 24 hours to rotate upon its own axis. There are no leap years. There are 15 days in a month and 15 months in a year:

Volkln Republik dia Polaria(People's Republic of Polaria/Government and politics)
The Senedd is the most powerful governing body in Polaris, comprised of 1 member per 1 million people. The people vote through their own ECDs (Electronic Convenience Devices, about the same size as an NDS, basically a clock, cellphone, and all that stuffed into one.). And can vote for anybody, except themselves, in their voting block. Voting blocks are assigned at birth and are usually 1 million members large. The person with the most votes from each voting block gets into the Senedd. Afterwards, the members of Senedd vote for a President amongst themselves. Despite the system that renders parties useless, political parties are actually very popular amongst the people. Polarians often state their allegiance on their ECD profiles and contribute money to their organization to help them run propaganda and get members of their party elected to push their policies. Political party membership changes by the hundreds everyday, but here are some of the more influential parties:
CPP - Communist Party of Polaris - Based on the ancient ideology of Communism
PPP - Polarian People's Party - A centre-right wing party formed in the second election
PLF - Polarian Liberal Font - A centre-left wing party that has been rivals with the PPP since it's formation during the third election
FFP - Fascist Front of Polaris - The most radical party out of the four, it commands great influence over the 100-150 years old voting group due to its ultra-conservative nature.
The political structure of Polaris, Pacifica and Scythia are almost exactly the same. Pacifica and Scythia have their own presidents, but they are subordinate to the Polarian president during emergencies.
The current president of Polaris is Nikolai Zorkovitch.

Livingspot(Habitat)
Round pods around the same size as single houses. Capacity of around one familly of four. They have curved bottoms so they can "float" on the ice. Boosters around the structure facilitate movement over the the ice if necessary. Food is grown using greenhouses on the second floor of the structure, and the third floor is mostly for storage but often carries 3 or 4 turret guns to kill any Welchies that are too aggressive. Large wind turbies are found at the top of the habitation pods, and provide enough energy for the inhabitants to use.

Commerway(Economy)
The government of Polaris likes to regulate intrest, if the economy is growing too quickly, it raises intrest rates to slow things down. If the economy is slumping, the central bank lowers them quickly to prevent a full-blown crash. There are only 2 types of taxes in Polaris. The government puts a 3% tax on every single money transfer that occurs on Polaris called the Currency Exchange Tax. The second tax is the Products and Materials Tax; it is placed on any thing that is tangible and can be exchanged between people. For example, if one were to buy a new $100 ECD, the total would be $113, but if you were to get a haircut for $10, the total would be $10.30.

The GPR was formed when Terra left Polaris for dead, many citizens, angered over Terra's actions, asked the new government to form a military of its own and invade Terra for its wrong doings. The government did form a military, but it never invaded Terra. To this day, 100 million Polarians organized into armies, corps, divisions, and battalions form up the ground forces of Polaris.

Korpus are formed from several Divizya, and are used when Armee and Divizya are not very convenient. Kommander is the title that is given to Korpus leaders.

Each soldier has a number: 001-001-001-01-01
The first 3 digits refers to the Armee, the next 3 to the Divizya, the next 3 to the Battalia the next two to the Kampfgruppe. The last two are the soldier's personal numbers within the Kampfgruppe.

The XM8, unlike guns of our age, uses two different types of cartridges.
Ammunition cartridges and propellant cartridges.
Propellant cartridges are filled with explosives and are lit in the barrel. The resulting explosion propels the Ammunition cartridge to an ungodly distance. This allows Polarians to pin down enemies before they can even get into effective range.

Aeroarmee dia Polaria Rupublik(Air Army of the Polarian Republic/Polarian Air force)
Made up of 50 million Polarians and thousands upon thousands of bases and hangars throughout Polaris. The Polarian airforce was formed shortly after the Betrayal, and now operates over 2 milllion aircraft from its glorious HQ in Moldavia.

Out of it's 2 million aircraft, the airforce operates 180 thousand vaunted Polarijets.
