3000 A.D.

The year is 3000 A.D. and the humans are but one species of many in the universe. Create your own alien species and conquer or save the universe, the fate of the universe, is in your hands (which are probably dirty and unwashed but ok)

Planet Characteristics: It's diameter is one and a half times bigger than earth's. 20% Land 80% Water. The entire planet is covered in a thick layer of ice 7 kilometers deep. 10 metres down from the surface of the ice are large colonies of extremophile bacteria called Zogytes. Salt water is hidden beneath the ice. If Polaris was striped of its snow, water would cover around 80% of the area. It's atmosphere is comprised mostly of oxygen but is very cloudy and constantly snowing. There is, however, a strip near the equator called the Moldavi Belt. This is the only place on Polaris that does not snow constantly, the temperature in this area has not dropped below minus 5 since Polaris warmed a bit in 1000 AD. This allows Polarians to build permanent structures in this area, and fill the Belt with ungodly amounts of factories, commercial buildings, and research labs. The city is officially called Moldavia, and contains the Presidential Palace as well as the Senedd.
Biosphere: Large slow-moving plants of various types typically 3 or 4 metres tall. Their roots go down far enough to attack the bacteria and take the minerals and energy they produce. The food is then transformed into a unholy-looking jelly and stored in a sac somewhere on the body of the plant for later use. This is the only non-sentient type of life on Polaris and Polarians refer to these creatures collectively as Welchies, after Samuel Welch, the first colonist on Polaris and also the first man killed by a Welchie.
